There is a real trend at the moment for cutomising and making your home and furniture personal and unique to you.
I don't think it can be all the fault of @kirstyallsop's Home Made Home but there does seem to be an increasing desirability of the "upcycled" and individual!
Well of course Ikea have been doing this for years in an effort to offer us the most cost effective furniture with their unfinished wooden furniture they have allowed us to make their product our own to paint, stain, decorate as we wish. But I have recently come across the ikea hackers which take personalising your ikea furniture to a whole new level! Absolutely genius inventions created from ikea products...
here are a some of my favourites....
Its Getting Personal!
I also love this new wall paper of frames from Graham & Brown for the owner to colour in or insert images as they wish. A really clever way of mass production getting on this trend for the personalised, individual and home made.
A more classically styled and no doubt more expensive option is available from Eijffinger.

Lighten Up!!
Its really refreshing to see some really fun lighting out there at the moment. The more quirky things are mostly only seen at exhibitions or smaller independent retailers but there are now quite a few items out on the high street that allow any of us to make a statement and have a bit of fun with our home accessories!
Take a look at the selection below:
Dwell's Wine Glass Chandelier would be fabulous hung over a dining table and Graham & Green's Jeeves and Wooster Top Hat and Bowler Hat Pendant lights, amazing in a dressing room or walk in wardrobe.
Graham & Green don't stop there either, also doing teapot and birdcages that light up your life!
The "Tea Party" theme has even reached Laura Ashley, with their Teapot and Tea Cups Lamps...
Our homes should reflect our personality and if we have a sense of humour why not show it!!!
